A legendary journey through the heart of the Alps

From Chamonix to Zermatt, through glaciers, high passes and epic descents — this is the Haute Route, the most famous ski tour in the Alps.

Over six days, we’ll link the Mont Blanc and Matterhorn ranges, traversing stunning high mountain terrain and sleeping in remote alpine huts. The itinerary is physically demanding, but within reach for trained ski mountaineers with glacier experience. 

To ski into Zermatt beneath the Matterhorn is a moment that stays with you forever.

Trip outline

  • Day 1 – Meet in Chamonix, gear check and guide briefing
  • Day 2 – Aiguille du Midi – Vallée Blanche descent – Argentiere Hut
  • Day 3 – Col du Chardonnet – Col Saleina – Trient Hut
  • Day 4 – Arpette descent – transfer to Bourg-St-Pierre
  • Day 5 – Ascent to Valsorey or Chanrion Hut
  • Day 6 – Glacier traverse to Vignettes Hut
  • Day 7 – Final high pass day to Zermatt, with Matterhorn view
  • Day 8 – Return travel or overnight in Zermatt (optional)
